This is my personal site — writing, projects, and a small comment corner. I've tried to collect as little as possible and to keep this page in plain language. If anything here is unclear, just email me.
The short version
- You can read everything here without signing in or being tracked.
- If you comment, leave a note, or react, that content is stored and shown publicly.
- Signing in is optional and only used to put your name on what you post.
- No ads, no analytics that follow you around the web, no selling data.
What gets collected
Just reading
Your reading preferences — theme, text size, bionic reading, sound on/off — live in your browser's local storage, on your device. I never see them. Each essay also keeps a simple view counter, which is an aggregate number and isn't tied to you.
An anonymous device ID
If you post a comment, note, or reaction without signing in, the site generates a soft device fingerprint (via FingerprintJS, computed in your browser and cached locally). It exists so the same device keeps a consistent display handle and can't spam — not to track you across other websites, and it's never sold or shared.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and uses GitHub or Google. When you do, the site receives your name or username, your avatar image, and your email address. These are used to attribute your comments and notes and to let you upvote. Your email is not shown publicly and isn't used to market anything to you.
What you post
Comments, inline notes (including the passage you highlighted), and reactions are stored and displayed publicly, alongside your display name and the date. Anything you post here is meant to be seen by other readers.
Where it lives
Saved content and accounts are stored in the site's database — the “brain” — hosted by Supabase, which handles the database and sign-in. As with any web service, the database and the platform serving this site keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep things running. The companies involved act as processors for this data:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage of posted content and account data.
- FingerprintJS — the anonymous device ID, generated in your browser.
- GitHub / Google — only if you choose to sign in with them.
Cookies & local storage
There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies here. The site uses your browser's local storage for reading preferences and the anonymous ID, and — if you sign in — to keep your login session active.
Your choices
- You can delete your own comments and notes at any time using the delete control on each one.
- Clearing your browser's local storage for this site removes your preferences and the anonymous ID.
- To request access to, correction of, or deletion of account data and anything tied to it, email me and I'll take care of it.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
